About European Genre Forum

European Genre Forum is a pan-european project organized byIndustry@Tallinn & Baltic Event of the Black Nights Film Festival from Tallinn (among 15 world A festivals); Imagine Fantastic Film Festival from Amsterdam (biggest festival for fantastic film in the Netherlands) and Fantastic Zagreb Film Festival (largest genre festival in the SEE region).

The main goal of this international project is to connect young and upcoming, as well as already proven, European film talents. Producers, directors, screenwriters and others i.e. development, promotion and financial support of film, television and web projects with a strong European and regional focus, as well as international co-productions beyond European framework through cooperation with European film funds, national film centers, production studios etc. The European Genre Forum (EGF) is an training programme that sets to boost the careers of future European players in the genre film industry through three talent labs, packed with trainings, panels mentoring and pitching sessions. The Screenwriting & Directing Lab takes place in Zagreb during Fantastic Zagreb, the Producing Lab takes place in Amsterdam and the Marketing and Packaging Lab takes place in Tallin.

During these three talent labs, the eight chosen film projects will be able to discuss their ideas with script consultants, learn about the different aspects of (co-) production, sales and packaging from Industry professionals. Mentoring sessions with established genre filmmakers, crowd funders, legal experts, VR and AR experts, and case studies of recent, successful films complete the programme.
